Erin Schumaker is a writer and editor based in Brooklyn, New York. She's currently a senior health editor and reporter at The Huffington Post, where she covers public health and health disparities. Previously she worked for Departures magazine.
Erin has a masters from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and is a graduate of Union College, where she won a grant to document recently deported migrants' detention stories on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Erin is a 2016 National Press Foundation fellow. Her story, "Finding A Cure Wouldn’t Mean We’ve Defeated Cancer," was awarded a 2017 American Association for Cancer Research June L. Biedler prize for cancer journalism.
